Symantec Student Seed Fund Grant

Society of Women Engineers at UT Dallas is proud is announce we have received the Symantec Student Seed Fund grant from NCWIT.

On July 30th, 31st and August 1st SWE along with the UT Dallas Computer Science department will host the first ever Geeky Girls Residential Summer Camp. This will be a two and a half day camp for girls entering their Junior or Senior year of High School in Fall 2013. Our goal is to introduce girls to programming. The first day will be spent teaching Alice programming and allowing the girls to get hands on experience. The remainder of the camp will include Javascript and Python for robotic control. These workshops will be taught by undergraduate and graduate female students from UT Dallas.
Camp attendees will spend two nights in the campus dorms. The evenings will have fun activities for the high school girls along with our SWE members.

We are very excited to have this opportunity to introduce more females to the wonderful world of engineering!  We want to thank the National Center for Women in IT (NCWIT),  Symantec, and the UT Dallas Computer Science department for their generous donation to make this camp possible.
