AT&T at our meeting!! Plus: other info!

Hi Engineers!!

…will be sponsored by none other than AT&T, who is holding amock interview session at 8pm, October 15th, in ECSS 2.311. They’ll help you answer questions the right way!! This meeting is for you if:

  • You’ve ever ever gotten nervous about an upcoming interview (who hasn’t??)
  • You’ve never had an interview
  • You have had an interview, but want to polish up your interview skills
  • You’re about to graduate, and/or are on the market for an internship, job or career

Bring your resume so you have something to talk about! You can get resume help at SSB 3.300. Take the time to polish it up to make the mock interview session more realistic and effective. More info here.

SCHOLARSHIPS. The deadline for scholarships applications has been extended like your favorite sale. Apply here with one common application. If you get your application in by October 15th, there’s a great chance it will get approved– little birdie tells us there’s a whole bunch of unclaimed money as of yet. And we want all ECS students to have money for food (you can’t survive on our free pizza every other week…), so get a scholarship!

Engineer’s Week is coming!!! Keep your eyes open for flyers and updates. It’s going to be amazing and you don’t want to miss out!!

JP Morgan this Wednesday!!!

Hey Engineers!

Ever heard of JP Morgan? They’re going to be at our meeting at 8:00 pm this Wednesday, October 1st, in ECSS 2.412! They’re holding an info session on their engineering program. They will also introduce you to some business resource groups that may prove lucrative in the future (you know, like a job ;)).

So, if anything takes up your Wednesday night, make sure it’s learning from and networking with a strong company, like JP Morgan!! This is an opportunity, and it shouldn’t go to waste!

Happy networking!

For Starters…

Wow!! Thanks for such an AMAZING response! SWE is growing faster than expected, so we’re going to make it a great year for you. Stay tuned for updates and important meetings!! For example (for real), these 3 items:

1.     To start the year off right, Texas Instruments (TI) is going to be at our next meeting, on Weds, 17th September, in ECSS 2.311

They want to provide you with:

  • Details about the opportunities TI has to offer
  • Resume tips (bring yours!)
  • How to prepare for the Intern and Career Fairs (see below!)
  • Other cool stuff

2.     There’s an Intern Fair the following Friday, 19th September.

3.     Then, there’s a Career Fair the next week (Friday, 26th September). How could we be any better for you? :D

Participating in Internship and Career Fairs, doing internships, and actively seeking out employment is the key to successfully landing that job upon graduation. So, take TI’s tips from our meeting this Wednesday, get your resume polished up, and practice with some friends before getting to the Intern and Career Fairs. These tips will give you the advantage recruiters are looking for! These companies are looking for active students in Engineering and CS majors, just like you.

See you there!
